Fishing Derby in Louisville

Fishing Derby RMRA.jpg

On Saturday, July 24th, City of Louisville’s Rangers, Open Space Staff, and Colorado Parks and Wildlife hosted its annual Fishing Derby at Harper Lake. Participants learned how to tie fishing knots, handle fish, and cast. Rangers stood by and assisted participants with helpful tips and tricks and provided information on local fish species, successful baits, state and local rules and regulations and wildlife ethics. Even with 40 participants, no fish were caught, so everyone left with an authentic fishing experience and free poles to try again in the future.
