More than 300 RMRA members, supporters, and members of the public attended five RMRA-sponsored or affiliated World Ranger Day events during the week leading up to July 31st. Observed each year on the anniversary of the founding of the International Ranger Federation (IRF), World Ranger Day commemorates Rangers killed or injured in the line of duty and celebrates the work of rangers around the globe.
This year, RMRA organized two Craft for a Cause Pint Night events – one at Red Leg Brewing in Colorado Springs and another at the Resolute Brewing Tap and Cellar in Arvada. For each pint sold at these venues, RMRA received a $1 donation to its new Fallen and Injured Ranger Fund. The two events raised more than $700 for the fund, which will financially assist rangers and their families in the case of a line-of-duty death or injury.
World Ranger Day 2022
In addition to hosting the pint nights, RMRA provided material and staffing support to three World Ranger Day events across the region, reaching more than a dozen member agencies. Attendees could win RMRA door prize packs that included a reusable bag, RMRA sticker, and a voucher for a free RMRA t-shirt.
If you missed RMRA’s World Ranger Day events, please consider attending the RMRA After Party, which will be in Crested Butte during the Colorado Open Space Alliance (COSA) conference this September. Details about the After Party are coming soon!
